How to mobilise your HR efforts

Mobility is one of the latest technology buzzwords to hit the business world. Today, organisations around the world are investing extensively in determining new methods of ensuring their employees are able to remain productive and engaged while on the go.

In November, Frost & Sullivan released new analysis speculating that mobility – alongside the growth of cloud computing – would be the major technology trend of 2014.

“Cloud and Mobility are the two main themes driving significant change in the ICT industry and driving disruption in the ICT market,” noted Audrey William, Head of Research, ICT Practice at Frost & Sullivan Australia & New Zealand.

So far, that analysis seems to be accurate. In January, Forrester announced that business and government spending on IT was set to increase by 5.5 per cent in 2014, driven mostly by investment in Software as a Service and mobile computing, specifically, custom mobile application development.

So with such overwhelming evidence highlighting the value of mobility, it’s time to ask the question – is your organisation fully capitalising on this revolutionary technology trend?

How mobile HR can benefit your organisation

A mobile HR application can boost your organisation’s productivity and collaboration by ensuring that every member of the team has access to critical information whenever necessary, regardless of whether they are in the office or not.

Human Resource Management Software (HRMS) that can be accessed through a mobile device such as a smart phone or tablet allows authorised users to review staff information, payslip records and leave balances quickly and easily while on the go.

As a result, employees feel more informed and connected, and have a greater understanding of HR policies and structure. They’ll never feel disengaged or confused and can easily confirm important information without taking time away from valuable HR staff.

Furthermore, managers and team leaders can use the mobile HR software to get in touch with employees and send important notifications directly, saving them time and money as well.

As the world clicks on to the benefits of a mobile and engaged workforce, it’s time that your HR department does the same before you get left in the dust.
