Who are we

C-Res is Australia's leading small, local, and Indigenous business procurement specialist. Our vision is to increase spend and business growth in small, local and Indigenous businesses; connecting small business to big business for sustained economic and social impact.

C-Res was established in 2012 to deliver the Local Buying Program (LBP) in Queensland for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) and administer the Local Buying Foundation. Since then, the Program’s continuing success has seen it expand to all BHP Minerals Australia Assets, along with the Foundation in eligible communities across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia. As a result, the C-Res team has also increased its capability with team members now living and working within these regions.

C-Res delivers the Local Buying Program

The Local Buying Program (LBP) recognises the challenges experienced by smaller businesses to engage as a supplier to BHP, and makes it simpler and easier for small, local and Indigenous businesses to competitively bid for supply opportunities released by BHP and BMA. This innovative program strengthens business communities in which BHP operates in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia. The Program is delivered in a strategic partnership between BHP and C-Res – a cost neutral organisation.

C-Res administers the Local Buying Foundation

The Local Buying Foundation (LBF) provides funding for projects and programs which facilitate workforce development, innovation and the productive capacity of business and industry to grow the potential of their regional economies.

The LBF operates across four (4) states, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia. Each state has unique stories and stakeholders who support the delivery of the LBF and the programs and initiatives it supports. These Foundations are run by representatives of the communities of interest to ensure investments have the greatest possible impact.

The Local Buying Foundation is a critical element of BHP’s Local Buying Program, for every dollar spent through the Local Buying Program, BHP commits an amount into trust to the Foundation, creating a complete local buying cycle.
